Ph.D Students


Ioannis Dokas is a faculty member (Associate Professor) at the Department of Economics in the Democritus University of Thrace. He graduated from the Economic Department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2000) and holds a Ph.D (Distinction) in Financial Accounting from the Department of Public Administration of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. As an Adjunct Lecturer, he was teaching the courses of Financial Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting and Corporate Accounting at the Economic Department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, for seven years. Dr Dokas has also taught in numerous postgraduate programs in Democritus University of Thrace, Open University of Cyprus, Hellinic Open University, University of Athens, National Technical University of Athens and ATEI Piraeus. During the past years Dr Dokas worked in the Department of National Accounts of the Hellenic Statistical Authority. His research work has been published in refereed journals such as Journal of the Operational Research Society, Research in International Business and Finance, Applied Economics, Operational Research: An international Journal, International Journal of Financial Research, International Journal of Business Administration, International Journal of Corporate Finance and Accounting, in the areas of accounting, finance and operational research. He serves as reviewer in various journals, while his research work is focused on the fields of accounting information quality, earnings management, estimation of firms’ performance, corporate failure prediction models.
