Vasilios Plakandaras holds the position of Assistant Professor of Applied Econometrics at the Department of Economics of the Democritus University of Thrace. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of International Economic Relationships and Development (2009) and a PhD in Applied Econometrics from the Democritus University of Thrace (2015). He currently teaches Econometrics I & II and Statistics I & II at the undergraduate level while his research has been published in International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Forecasting, Economic Modelling, Finance Research Letters, Economics Letters, Applied Economics among others. His research interests focus on applied econometrics and specifically on tackling economic problems using novel methodological approaches.
