Financial Analysis

This course (3rd semester, 5 ECTS) introduces students to the fundamental concepts of Financial Analysis. Students learn to understand and calculate the present and future value of payment series, to proceed with investment appraisal, and to value bonds and stocks. Additionally, they become familiar with the types and properties of financial derivatives (forwards, futures, swaps, options) and their use for hedging, speculation, and arbitrage. Finally, they are taught financial ratios and their application in company valuation. Assessment is via a written exam involving exercise solving and comparative evaluation of theoretical elements. The course is taught in Greek.
