This course (8th semester, 5 ECTS) introduces students to economic growth concepts. It analyzes the determinants of countries’ economic growth and dominant theories analyzing the change of economic mechanisms. Students encounter concepts such as exogenous and endogenous growth, beta (β) and sigma (σ) convergence, and the contribution of technology to growth. The course is based on mathematical documentation of theories, helping students acquire critical thinking and analytical spirit on economic policy issues. Indicatively, models like Solow, Ramsey, and Lucas are analyzed. Assessment is via written exams (100%) including a combination of topics (short answer, diagrammatic/mathematical analysis, theorem proof, problem-solving). The course is taught in Greek and offered to Erasmus students.
