Department’s quality assurance procedure
Οn behalf of all the Members of the Quality Assurance Unit of our department, I welcome you to the page of the unit dedicated to present our quality vision, mission, values, and key performance areas.
The Quality Assurance Unit targets academic excellence by implementing high quality assurance procedures through its Quality Assurance System. Quality standards and good practices are compatible with the international quality standards concerning all aspects of academic activity namely teaching, learning, evaluation and research procedures, as well as services’ performance, based on the values of transparency, accountability and integrity.
Our procedures and processes for QA are also compatible with the Quality Assurance policies of Hellenic authority for higher education in Greece as it is demonstrated in the attached certificate of quality assurance.
Τhe Quality Assurance Unit has the following responsibilities:
a) the cooperation with the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE)
b) the development of a specific strategy and the required procedures for the improvement of the quality of the academic work and the services of the department
c) the organization, operation and continuous improvement of the internal Quality Assurance system of the department following the principles and instructions of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE)
d) The development of the information management system of quality assurance, in compliance with the principles, guidelines and instructions of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE)
e) The monitoring of the procedures of the internal evaluation of the academic unit, the evaluation of courses provided, and the educational material and the implementation of the evaluation procedures based on the quality of the teaching work, the quality of the other services (student care, infrastructure),
f) The submission of the Annual Internal Report to the University quality assurance unit regarding the exercise of duties and the implementation of its objectives.
