This course (4th semester, 6 ECTS) introduces students to Industrial Economics, focusing on how industries and markets are structured and how firms compete and make strategic decisions in the modern economy. It covers key theoretical and methodological tools for analyzing contemporary industrial problems, including the behavior and decisions of households, businesses, and economic policy makers. Emphasis is placed on applying concepts to real case studies and on developing critical thinking for evaluating alternative explanations and policy choices. Students also learn to search, analyze, and synthesize statistical data and information relevant to the course’s thematic areas and to contribute effectively to group work on fundamental economic issues. The goal is for students to understand and use these tools to support informed analysis and decision-making. Assessment is via a written exam, and the course is taught in Greek.
