This course (6th semester, 5 ECTS) seeks to understand the complex relationships and institutions of the labor market, studying the dynamic between employers and employees, as well as wage, price, and profit incentives. It analyzes the behavior of employers and employees in response to changes in government policies and/or demographic composition. Its purpose is to teach how decisions are made in the labor market and how social policy can affect these interactions. It covers labor supply and demand, market equilibrium, wage differentials, human capital, mobility, discrimination, labor unions, pay incentives, and unemployment. Assessment includes a written exam (theory comprehension, methodological tools, problem-solving) and individual assignments with presentation. The course is taught in Greek, with availability for Erasmus students.
