Course Outline

This undergraduate course, taught in the 3rd semester and corresponding to 6 ECTS, offers students basic knowledge and skills in both Descriptive Statistics and Probability (including discrete and continuous distributions) and Inferential Statistics. Within the framework of the course, students will deepen into concepts such as Estimation, Confidence Intervals, Hypothesis Testing, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Regression, as well as elements of Non-Parametric Statistics. Special emphasis is placed on the application of all these statistical tools in economic science for solving complex problems. The goal is to develop critical thinking and the ability to analyze, synthesize, and interpret statistical data. Assessment is done through a two-hour written exam, comprising both theoretical questions and problem-solving in statistical and economic applications. The course is available for Erasmus students.
