This course, taught in the 1st semester and corresponding to 6 ECTS, offers students a comprehensive introduction to the methodology of economic science and the evolution of economic thought over time. The course covers basic epistemological approaches in economic analysis and examines how major economic theories and schools of thought have been shaped from antiquity to the present day. It focuses on the fundamental ideas and contributions of significant economists, analyzing the historical, social, and intellectual context in which they developed. The goal of the course is to equip students with the necessary tools to understand different methodological approaches in economics and to develop their critical ability in evaluating economic theories.
