This undergraduate course (7th semester, 5 ECTS) introduces students to the role of money and the financial system in the economy. It examines the operation of commercial and central banks, money supply and demand, the instruments, intermediate and final targets of monetary policy, as well as its transmission mechanisms in the IS-LM model. The course aims to develop critical thinking and analytical skills for economic issues. Assessment is via a written final exam 100% (multiple choice, problem-solving, comparative theory evaluation), while the course is also offered in English for Erasmus students.
