This course (8th semester, 5 ECTS) studies international business activity through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). It analyzes their nature, flows, explanatory economic theories (neoclassical, industrial organization, product life cycle, eclectic, intra-firm integration), and their effects on the overall economy (on total product, employment, productivity, trade, technology, market structure). Also, it provides knowledge on the characteristics and operation of multinational enterprises. The goal is to develop analytical and critical thinking for evaluating FDI theories. The course is taught in Greek and offered to Erasmus students.
