Konstantinos Rigopoulos was born in 1985 in Alexandroupolis. He is Assistant Professor of Marketing and Market Research at the Democritus University of Thrace, Department of Economics. He holds a degree in Marketing and Communication from the Athens University of Economics and Business, a Master’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Marketing Management from the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University), and a PhD in Industrial Marketing from Nyenrode Business University (The Netherlands). He completed his postgraduate studies with an international scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation after passing an examination.
He specializes in business-to-business (B2B) digital marketing, social media communication crises and sales management. He teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level at universities in Greece and abroad the courses introduction to marketing, consumer behavior, market research, e-commerce, digital communication and social media strategy, international export marketing, and marketing through immersive technologies.He has twelve years of successful managerial experience in multinational companies in his areas of expertise (Digital Marketing, Digital Communication and Social Media Strategies, Social Media Crisis Management, Sustainable Production and Consumption, Business-to-Business Sales) and was a founding member and member of the scientific committee of the LightHub start-up incubator of the Evros Chamber of Commerce.
He is Secretary General of the Hellenic Academy of Marketing since 2023 and a member of the European Academy of Marketing (EMAC). His research has been published in the proceedings of several international conferences of renowned scientific institutions, such as the American Marketing Association and the European Marketing Academy.
